BACHELOR'S DEGREE, INDIANA UNIVERSITY-BLOOMINGTON

August 2018-Present

When I was starting out at Indiana University, I was working towards becoming a high school history teacher. After two years, I decided that it wasn't for me and devoted my time to pursuing a Liberal Studies degree with a focus on social and historical studies. History was always a passion of mine and luckily I was able to combine my passions for history and media production.

I am currently working on getting my bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies with a focus on Journalism. I am currently at a 3.5 GPA and have taken labs to offer realistic expectations of on-set protocol. I am also proficient in research procedures and writing in the journalistic style.

HSDG W/ACADEMIC HONORS, MITCHELL HIGH SCHOOL

August 2014-May 2018

During my time at Mitchell High School, I was primarily focused on my studies and being part of the Marching Bluejackets, our high school marching band. While in high school, I developed some primary skills in video editing when producing a documentary about my high school and this is where my passion for media production started to foster. I graduated with academic honors in 2018 and shortly went onto IU.

Experience

CORRESPONDENT, WFHB COMMUNITY RADIO

August 2022 - Present

  • Arranged written features into long-form audio stories with the addition of music and sound effects for the station’s news segments. Projects in this area increased the traffic to WFHB.org significantly.

  • Analyzed trends in violent extremism and produced news-worthy content with the intent to educate the community to spot such occurrences. This project was invaluable to the community as a list of resources was included with the piece.

  • Compiled testimonies from academics and religious leaders to gauge the community’s reaction to anti-Semitic incidents. The project was instrumental in disrupting readers’ preconceived views on the Jewish faith and anti-Semitic rhetoric.

DEALERSHIP PHOTOGRAPHER, ROYAL ON THE EASTSIDE

May 2022 - Present

  • Adapted to a new online system for categorizing vehicles with little training beforehand, and quickly discovered time-saving ways to aid the dealership in its organization of cars.

  • Facilitated the creation of a new logo through Adobe Photoshop to display Audi-branded vehicles on the website, and was recognized by Audi representatives as ‘cooperative with their brand’.

  • Ensured the correct classification of vehicles on Royal’s website, including accessory packages, to describe cars for sale to customers accurately.

SOCIAL ACTION WRITING INTERN, CATALYST.CM

March 2022 - June 2022

  • Discovered cuisine trends across the globe and discussed the histories and cultures within the context of a listicle article. These articles were foundational in broadening the cultural understanding of readers.

  • Mapped the evolution of punk music from South America to Western cultures. This resulted in the deconstruction of the reader’s beliefs on the origins of punk music.

  • Investigated the feminist nation of Rojava and broke down readers’ stereotypes of women’s roles in Middle Eastern politics.

SET EXPERIENCE

Advanced

I took film labs during my time at IU where I learned the basics of being on the set of single-camera production and stylistic choices regarding cinematography. Here I learned how to put lights together, set up cameras and lenses, and how to get the shot I desired. I am always looking for more experience on set.
